Summer is leaving us and Fall is the time for a different kind of renewal. So what are we studying this Fall?
Chapter 8 has 28 verses and contains some of the deepest teachings of the Upanishads. It takes you to the nature of life and death, devotion of the highest order, the meaning of karma, the ultimate Brahman and many topics that form the warp and weft of our philosophical tradition.
So we will take up Chapter 8 this Fall and immerse ourselves in chanting and study. Many people have asked about this chapter so I thought we could study it this year.
Traditionally this chapter is chanted during times of crisis in terms of dying and death. It is deeply empowering and a sincere study will free us from the fears of our own mortality with all its implications.
I look forward to this journey with you and am blessed to have you in my life. What could be better?
Please share this with your friends. As they say, it is always better to start at the beginning; if not, any time is preferred to no time......
