1. River Ganga originates in the Himalayas (Gangotri Glacier) and flows south east emptying into the Bay of Bengal.
2. It passes through two countries - India and Bangladesh.
3. The length of the river is 2520 km (1560 miles) making it the longest river in India. Though when compared to other rivers in the world, it is fairly short.
