Jayanthi Krishnamurthy is one of the teachers handling Vedic Heritage and Shlokas classes at YICG (Young Indian Culture Group, Inc.). The curriculum for the comprehensive Vedic heritage program is based on the 10 year “Vedic Heritage Teaching Program” introduced by Arsha Vidya Gurukulam. The subjects covered in this program are:

- Culture
The shloka classes incorporate an eight year curriculum for kids in the age group of 4 to 14 years.
Jayanthi Krishnamurthy - a Teacher with Outstanding Teaching Skills
Ms. Krishnamurthy is a graduate in Science from the University of Bangalore. She also has a diploma from the Davars College of Commerce. She is currently working as a Teacher’s Assistant for the Westbury School District in addition to teaching at YICG. Ms. Krishnamurthy employs her teaching skills to:
- provide exceptional instruction in Vedic heritage
- inculcate a desire among her students to preserve their Vedic culture
- encourage her students to respect and appreciate other people
She adopts story telling and other innovative teaching methods to pass on elements of Indian heritage and religion to her students. For the shloka classes, she teaches the children well-known bhajans and shlokas including Guruvandanam, Purusha Sooktham, and Devi Maahaathmyam.
