Jyoti Ramani is one of the teachers taking Vedic heritage classes at YICG (Young Indian Culture Group, Inc.), targeted at Long Island and Queens communities in NYC. She has been working with YICG since 1996.
The Vedic Scriptures are invaluable because they portray the values of love, courage, virtue, self-discipline, and integrity that are essential for healthy existence. What’s more, these Scriptures are the earliest in the world.
Take Pride in Your Indian Heritage
YICG is a non-profit academy set up to encourage Asian Indians in New York to develop awareness about and pride in their Indian heritage that includes Vedic culture. Our Vedic heritage classes serve to achieve exactly that objective. The “Vedic Heritage Teaching Program” introduced by Arsha Vidya Gurukulam forms the basis for the curriculum of these classes. This ten year program covers the following subjects:
- Bhagavata Purana
- Bhagavad Gita
- Isvara and religious disciplines
- Vedic knowledge
- Gods & Goddesses
