Ramakrishna Kantamneni creates an informal setting for the Telugu classes, and uses suitable teaching aids and innovative teaching techniques to encourage his students to use the language without hesitation. He adopts a curriculum that includes Telugu alphabet, phrases, the Telugu equivalents for commonly used terms, Telugu sentence construction, and Telugu conversation.
A Committed Telugu Tutor
Ramakrishna Kantamneni’s first stint in the US was in 1961 to complete his Masters degree in Industrial and Mechanical Engineering. He resided in Chicago for 15 years, taking up job with 3M company. While in Chicago, he was a committed volunteer for the Junior Achievement program, handled Telugu classes on weekends at area schools, served as President of the Telugu Association of Greater Chicago, and gave his active support for all social and cultural events arranged by the Indian community in Chicago. He is now living with his daughter Tanuja and is happy to be part of the YICG family, and to join in the mission to help Asian Indians in NYC preserve their Indian heritage and culture.
