Usha Shroff has been with YICG (Young Indian Culture Group, Inc) in NYC for more than 15 years. She teaches her students to read, write and speak Hindi with confidence. Students are also taught poems and songs, which would help them appreciate the rich language. Ms. Shroff takes Hindi classes for beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Hindi Classes by Ms. Shroff
Students of Ms. Shroff learn Hindi by familiarizing the varnamala (Hindi alphabet) by articulating and writing each letter. Grammar classes would cover almost all topics and give them an understanding of the rules that govern the language. With practice they would be able to organize words, phrases and clauses into meaningful sentences. The interactive academic sessions are made fun-filled with exercises to reinforce the learning objectives.
Ms. Usha Shroff is a committed Hindi teacher and the simplicity in her style of teaching makes it easier for her students to grasp the language quickly. She considers it an honor to partake in spreading the awareness of Hindi as the national language of India to the next generation. Students who complete the course at YICG can opt to take the standard exams conducted by the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha, India.
Born and brought up in Calcutta, Ms. Shroff obtained her bachelor's degree from Calcutta University. She fulfilled her dream of becoming a Hindi teacher and imparts a great deal of knowledge to all those who has a keen interest in learning the Hindi language. She resides in Port Washington, NY with her husband and two daughters.
