Ms. Vandana Datta has been teaching Hindi at YICG (Young Indian Culture Group, Inc.) since January 2002. She has a Masters of Science in Education from the City University of New York. With well over 20 years experience in teaching middle and high school students in India, she went on to teach in New York City Public Schools for a period of five years. As an active member of the Hindi faculty at YICG, she teaches both Intermediate and Advanced level classes.

Hindi is the chief official language of the Indian Republic and one of the languages most spoken in the world. Ms. Datta provides intensive training in reading, writing and speaking Hindi, which enables students to communicate with others confidently. Her Hindi classes help students in the following ways:
- They learn how to form and organize basic phrases and sentences
- Accent training
- They also learn the usage of stress and intonation to speak just as native speakers
In addition, students are taught poems and songs which would enable them to express themselves better and appreciate the rich Indian literary heritage. Students at YICG can take the standard Hindi exam conducted by the Rashtra Bhasha Prachar Samiti, Wardha, India.
